The Suicide Squad opened in first place this weekend with a disappointing $26.5 million. The high-budget James Gunn directed standalone sequel to 2016’s Suicide Squad came in way below trade expectations which had the film coming in at over $30m.

JUNGLE CRUISE Cruises Past $30m Opening | BOX OFFICE REPORT (02/08/2021)
Disney’s Jungle Cruise toppled competitors on it’s way to opening above trade expectations. The trades put it at around $25m to $30m but it easily topped that range for a opening of $34m.
